Olympic silver medalist John Joe Nevin is in hospital in Mullingar after suffering a broken leg during an attack on him this morning. Gardai in Mullingar are investigating the incident but no arrests have been made.

UPDATE: The Independent reports that a gang of men went into Nevin's house at approximately 10:30am this morning and carried out the assault.
