Sigur Ros were a tiny Icelandic band who no one had ever heard of and Friday Night Lights hadn't been commissioned yet but TV stations still had a go at doing sporting montages back in 1994.
After Ireland's ultimately abject exit at the hands of the Dutch in the second round, the team returned home to a reception in the Phoenix Park.

RTE played a last of these montages for the benefit of the crowds gathered in the Park and the audience at home. The music in question is Tom Petty's classic 'Wont Back Down'.
