Here's a mildly interesting development from the world of Irish sports radio. RTÉ's has changed direction in its efforts to steal the thunder from Off The Ball on nightly radio. Their post-Drivetime sport show that starts at seven pm, which is currently known as Sport At 7, will be moved to 2FM and be now known as Game On. Damien O'Meara will continue to steer the ship.

I'll put my hands up and claim journalistic irresponsibility: I've never once heard RTÉ radio's nightly sport offering. I'm sure it's competently-produced and presented radio, but it's a bit like having a second kettle in the kitchen. A man only needs one device to boil hot water and Ireland never really needed a second sports radio show in the evening, although I'm willing to be proven wrong by the 2FM listenership.

Reaction from Ken Early's cat on the wireless tonight, we can only hope.
