Let us count the ways....

  1. Both manage Irish national teams in their respective codes.
  2. Both highly succesful at club level.
  3. You will hate both.
  4. You will love both.
  5. Both prefer for their teams to play in a rigid system that favours grinding out results, more so than playing with attacking flair.
  6. Both refuse to change said system regardless if it is getting results or not.
  7. Both have the ability to annoy the Irish public with conservative team selections.
  8. Both share a common bond of sticking with players who they trust to know their system of play over fresh faces, regardless if those veteran players  best form is now consigned to an episode of Reeling In The Years or they are warming the bench.
  9. We are stuck with both.
