Ireland starling Shane Duffy preparations for tomorrow night's U21 match against Hungary have been disrupted by a weird Twitter spat with a friend in a low place, Scouser Jeff Thomas. Today Thomas posted on Twitter a screengrab from what we think were his Blackbery Messenger discussions with Duffy. Apparently Duffy had been privately been bigging up the magic of Transfer Deadline Day, especially in his bank account. Thomas then went on public on Twitter that Duffy was bragging that his loan move to Scunthorpe, it seems, will have him in on 2,900 pounds a week. Below, you'll apparently find Duffy's rather desperate pleas to have Thomas remove the tweet.
Duffy, having accepted defeat, launched an unfollow Thomas campaign.
Scroll through Thomas's twitter feed and you'll find he doesn't possess the most upstanding moral character in the world, but still Duffy should have known better.
