Update: Spare A Thought For The Philadelphia Eagles' Rookies After This Monster Dinner Bill

The Eagles' guard Evan Mathis has tweeted a photo of the outrageous dinner bill himself and other Eagles' players managed to rack up on their rookie dinner.

The rookie dinner is an NFL tradition where players will go out and have rookie players foot the bill.

The tradition has been criticised in the last few years as rookie players who earn comparatively little in comparison to older players can be left with extravagant bills they can hardly afford.

The main expense seems to have been a 20k charge for six bottles of Screaming Eagle Cabernet 2005 which at over 3k a bottle does seem like it might be a small bit indulgent.
