What's Stan up to these days, well apart from working as a scout with Tony Mowbray's Middlesborough he is keeping up appearances by attending and officiating at some of the biggest events across the UK. Go and compete Steve.

From Erica Bayliss, the chairperson of Staffordshire Council

Today, I was at the opening of the new play area at Shenstone Playing Fields.

The international footballer, Steve Staunton performed the opening ceremony to officially launch this great facility for all Shenstone children.

Steve, who lives in Shenstone, is remembered as a great player for Liverpool and Aston Villa as well as making history as the first Irishman to make 100 appearances for his country at international level.

Congratulations must go to Shenstone Playing Fields Management Committee for all their work raising funds and working hard to complete this new playground.
