Irish Fans Are Very Excited By Young Talent Impressing At Crystal Palace
By Andrew Dempsey

It has been an exciting few days for young Irish footballers at Crystal Palace.

Yesterday, the Eagles signed Jake O'Brien on a permanent deal yesterday from Cork City, and they seem to have another supremely talented defender at the club in Tayo Adaramola.

Adaramola plays with Palace's U18 side, and has already been called up to the club's U23 side on occasion.

The left-back showed his quality this weekend past in a match against the Leicester U18s with some impressive attacking play, alongside some impressive defensive work.

The young Dubliner shared some highlights on his instagram story feed story, and people loved what they saw.

One Palace fan did sound a note of caution to those calling for Tayo to replace Tyreik Mitchell as the starting leftback at Selhurst Park.

That U23 side, where O'Brien also plays, is managed by Shaun Derry, and also previously had Stephen Rice within their ranks as a coach.

Rice, formerly of Shamrock Rovers, left the Eagles last week to take up a role with Stephen Kenny's backroom team ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Adaramola joined Palace at U12 level after his family moved him over to the UK to improve his chances of making it as a professional footballer.

That was after he began his schoolboy days with Dublin clubs St Mochta's and St Kevin's Boys.

Following his move to London, Adaramola had trials with Charlton and West Ham, but neither side decided to take a punt on him.

And that rejection opened up his move to Crystal Palace where he has been ever since.

He signed his first professional contract with the club last year, and since then he has gone from strength to strength.

He was then called up to the Ireland U17 squad shortly after signing his first pro deal at Selhurst Park.

The teenager made his first appearance at Selhurst Park in their crucial 3-2 victory over Middlesbrough for Palace's U23s last term.

His rise has gone under the radar somewhat given the exploits of the Irish at Brighton and elsewhere.

But if he continues to impress at the level he is at already, it won't be long before more start to talk about him.
