With the series tied at 2-2 the final two games of the NBA Finals to be played in Miami, game 5 was a must-win for the San Antonio Spurs. They responded like champions with a 114-104 victory with a return to form for Manu Ginobili who had 24 points with 10 assists.

Danny Green, who would have been seen as purely a 'role player' coming into the finals, has erupted from outside the arc for the Spurs and last night he broke Ray Allen's NBA Finals record for 3-pointers. Allen, who now comes off the bench for the Heat, had 22 for the Boston Celtics against the LA Lakers in 2008. Green already has 25 and showed his prowess at the other end of the floor with a brilliant steal from a charging Lebron James.
