This is a blatantly shortsighted perspective, but the NBA doesn't matter to anyone beside basketball nerds unless the New York Knicks are good. There are few places in sport like a revved-up Madison Square Garden. Last week, the Knicks acquired flaky superstar Carmelo Anthony. And last night, the revamped Knicks beat Lebron James and his mercenary millionaire gang, closing the game off in the dramatic style. The NBA - it's on.
