It's no secret anymore that Conor McGregor has really pissed off Dustin Poirier. This fact has become prevalent in the UFC's stunning Embedded vlog series which goes being the scenes of the fighters as they prepare for UFC 178.
In the first episode, it was obvious that McGregor's mind games were taking their toll on Poirier but the tension between the pair reached its zenith in the latest installment of the series.
After both fighters had their early weigh-in by the UFC officials, they engaged in one of the coldest staredowns ever recorded on film in the lobby of the hotel. McGregor, aided by virtue of his spectacular sunglasses, did not avert his gaze with the Diamond until the American left the room with his team in a huff. Poirier then vented his frustration when he went outside.
I've never disliked somebody that much that I've ever fought.
Like, there's a time to be a professional, you know what I mean? Fuckin', in a lobby with your (camera) crews there? You gonna be a fuckin' jackass? He's new to this game though. He'll learn, he'll learn.

It seems as though the Dubliner is winning the mental battle so far, anyway. The pair will manifest their rivalry physically this Saturday when they go toe-to-toe in the Octogon at UFC 178. The main card kicks off at 3 am Irish time.
