Tesco is sponsoring the All-Ireland ladies club championships this year, and as the promotional wheels started to turn, somebody had the bright idea to give the captains black aprons for the photo shoot. On the surface, it's completely innocuous, but it's hard to avoid the connection between the apron and the place where many men believed, and still believem their wives and girlfriends belong (instead of the gaelic pitch): the kitchen. Sometimes an apron is more than just an apron.
