The events surrounding the departure of the Off the Ball team from Newstalk has been the talk of the Irish sporting world for the last few days. Some of the details sound movie-esque: the ultimatums, the late night phone calls, the walkout. We decided to pitch our very own Off the Ball movie. The idea is that two plots run paralell to each other.
The first sees presenter Ger Gilroy trying to rebuild the show in the absence of the lads. Lots of sad music plays but after Gilroy gives an impassioned speech to his staff and one musical montage later the show is back on top. The other plot shows the five lads and Denis O'Brien engaging in a dangerous game of oneupmanship from which there can only be one winner. After an exhaustive casting process here is what we came up with.
