Well this should certainly be interesting. Conor McGregor's longtime coach John Kavanagh is set to appear on the hugely popular Joe Rogan Podcast tomorrow, and he will no doubt have some fascinating things to say about last night's fight.

McGregor suffered a fourth round submission defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov on his return to the UFC in a lightweight championship bout, before some unsavoury scenes unfolded after the bell.

The Russian jumped out of the octagon to confront McGregor's jiu jitsu coach Dillon Danis, while members of his team entered the ring and attacked the Irishman. Kavanagh was caught up in the middle of the brawl  as he attempted to protect his fighter from the incoming blows, and it will definitely be interesting to hear his take on the events.

Rogan was on commentary duty for the fight, and he could hardly believe what had occurred. Speaking afterwards, the broadcaster worried about the effects the events would have on the fans both inside and outside the arena.

This is not going to end here. This is going to spill out onto the streets. There's a lot Russian fans, there's a lot of Irish fans, there's a lot of booze, there's a lot of chaos.

Unfortunately that prediction proved to be correct, and marred what was supposed to be the biggest clash in UFC history. This fight billed as the ultimate stylistic clash, and that is ultimately how it played out. While the Dubliner attempted to use his superior striking abilities, he was unable to handle the Khabib's incredible grappling skills.

He was dominated by his opponent for the majority of the fight, unable to deal with Khabib's superior wrestling and grappling moves. It was a real statement victory for 'The Eagle', cementing his place as perhaps the most dominant fighter in the UFC at the moment. However it was completely overshadowed by the unsavoury events which occurred after the bell, and his actions will now likely have long-term repercussions.

Dana White has said that McGregor has opted not to press charges after three members of Khabib's team were reportedly arrested for the incident, but it will be fascinating to gauge the mood in the Crumlin native's camp once the dust has settled.

This is certainly one you don't want to miss.
