The hype over Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor has pulled in stars from other sports and popular culture who are picking sides in the most talked about fight for a very, very long time.

We've seen Drake reluctantly admit he's on Team McGregor despite being a Floyd fan, and today we learned that Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, an NBA champion and last season's defensive player of the year, is on team Mayweather.

We know this because Green took to Instagram to voice his displeasure with seeing what he believed to be his jersey on Conor McGregor. The Irishman was screen-grabbed wearing a Golden State Warriors throwback jersey with Green's number 23 jersey on it and demanded that McGregor 'take that off bruh' only to be informed that it was not his jersey by Conor himself.

So who is C.J. Watson, and why was McGregor wearing his jersey if he doesn't give a shit about basketball?

Because, as per Martin Rogers of USA Today [via Bleacher Report], Watson was someone who became involved in one of Floyd Mayweather's domestic violence cases.

Back in January, back when the fight still seemed improbable, McGregor took aim at his opponent's ugly domestic violence record. Mayweather spent time in prison for battering Josie Harris, mother to three of his children, in September 2010.

Having split with Harris, she says he entered her home in the middle of the night and was infuriated to find messages from NBA player C.J. Watson on her phone. Mayweather's son, Koraun, then 10, told the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department that he had seen his father on top of Harris—hitting and kicking her.

Yikes.

We saw Mayweather wear a Man Utd jersey to try and wind Ricky Hatton up in the past, but this is on a different level altogether.

"Stay in school, kid" is a comical thing to say to an NBA champion a year younger than yourself, but Green was trying to get a rise was well and truly shut down in this case.
