Have you ever wondered how important the motorized hare actually is during a greyhound race?
Well, during the fairly routine looking race below, the apparent conclusion is, it depends.
Having taken off as expected chasing the luminous object guiding them around, there was some malfunction at about the half-way point.
While five of the greyhounds racing seemed more concerned with the track in front of them, one particularly luminous greyhound immediately veers off course - eyes firmly on the prize.
Disrupting the pattern of the greyhound closest to it, all seemed to progress as usual until they enter into that stretch on the second lap.
You'll need to keep your eyes on it, but watch that luminous blur of the distracted greyhound come back into shot, and, thanks to our keen eyed commentator, "land in a pool of water."
Thankfully, no dog is reported to have been hurt.
