Sketch comedy seems to hold a precarious position in modern entertainment, with scarce few shows being produced either at home or abroad. Granted you have Foil Arms & Hog, as well as a host of other internet based sketch groups that have carved their own niche audience, but if you're looking for your yucks on the telly, you'll be flicking for a while.

This dearth led me to look across the pond for my sketch fix, and despite being off the air for some time now, Key & Peele's show never fails to raise a smile.

Better known for directing Oscar winning horror films Jordan Peele, along with his sidekick Keegan Michael-Key starred in their breakout sketch show for five season between 2012 and 2015, and in that time they produced some of the most clever, irreverent, and cinematic sketches of all time.

If you haven't seen them before I implore you to enter the Youtube rabbit hole now, here are 11 of my favourites to get you started.

11. Movie Hecklers

Don't you hate it when people make insightful criticism during a movie?

10. Cat Poster

An excellent spoof of Verbal Kint in the Usual Suspects.

9. Bling Benzy & Da Struggle

The two sides of rap perfectly encapsulated here.

Probably their most well known sketch. And with good reason.

7. Awkward Conversation

We all know a guy like this.

6. Pizza Order

Jordan Peele stars in this skit about a morbidly obese nerd trying to order some pizza.

A cappella bands mixed with a gang war makes for a hilarious 4 and a half minutes.

"Yo' mama is so old... her last name is '-asaurus'".

We all have a mate that tries too hard to make stupid phrases 'happen'.

2. Clear History

Again, the tense soundtrack really elevates this sketch about every man's worst nightmare.

1. School Bully

An bully highly aware of his emotional problems makes for one of the duo's most memorable sketches.
