When Paddy McCourt returned to the League of Ireland at the start of the season, there was surprise he joined Finn Harps.

The Derry City legend was training with Dundalk, and it was expected he would join Stephen Kenny's side or his hometown club.

Despite entering the latter years of his career, McCourt showed on Saturday night that he can still be one of the most skillful players in the League.

In a crucial relegation battle against North-West rivals Sligo Rovers, McCourt scored one of the best goals you will see the season. The former Celtic star beat SEVEN players before slotting the ball past Shaun Patton.

McCourt's goal in the final ten minutes levelled the match and looked to hand Ollie Horgan's side a crucial point. Sligo Rovers snatched the game in added time when Rhys McCabe scored the winner to hand Rovers an invaluable three points.

Even though the goal was ultimately in a losing vain, McCourt showed what he is capable of on one of the worst pitches in the league.

No wonder he's called 'The Derry Pele'.
