Ruby Walsh's participation in the rest of the Cheltenham festival has been thrown into doubt following a fall during the RSA Novices' Chase this afternoon. Walsh was riding Al Boum Photo, but stumbled over the penultimate fence and fell. The horse recovered quickly but Walsh was left on the ground for a couple of minutes, and was attended to by medics. He was then helped off the course by his father, Ted.

Walsh was then helped into an ambulance by father Ted and sister Katie.

ITV Racing are reporting that Walsh has suffered a broken leg, having only just battled back from the same injury.

Walsh had been due to ride Douvan later today, and ITV are reporting that he will be replaced by Patrick Mullins.
