Maurice Harris has just over 2000 Twitter followers. Before yesterday, it was a lot less.

He has been in the NFL for two years, but he's far from a household name. Last year, the NFL draft came and went without him getting selected by any of the league's 32 teams.

Eventually, he was signed by the Washington Redskins to their practice squad, and injuries led to him playing a number of games last year, without making much, if any, impact in the 2016 season.

He was dropped by the team this year, and at 25, there was a chance his NFL career was over before it had ever really began.

Now, 10 weeks into the 2017 season, he has suddenly become a star. Yesterday, just a day after being brought back up to the main roster, he made the play of his life, catching a ball so unlikely to be a touchdown, the officials on the field even refused to call it a catch.

Only when the replays confirmed what he had done did they award the touchdown.

While we're used to seeing seemingly impossible touchdown passes from the likes of Odell Beckham Jnr. and Julio Jones, Harris is not a name that exactly comes to mind when you think of the games top wide receivers.

This catch in the first half of Washington's defeat to the Minnesota Vikings is up there with any of those highlights and may well be the best catch of the season so far.
