Mark Cavendish won silver in the Omnium at Rio.
The British rider finished behind Italian Elia Viviani in the six-stage event. Danish rider Lasse Norman Hansen took the bronze medal.
Going into the final race Viviani was leading the event from Cavendish and Hansen but he crashed out following a collision.
After Cavendish careered into Park Sang-hoon - who left the track on a stretcher - the Korean collided with Viviani. Australian Glen O'Shea was also caught up in the crash. The Italian's lead would prove too much for Cavendish and Hansen to surmount.
After finished the race, Cavendish faced a nervy wait to see if he would be penalised for the crash. He was not and stood on the podium to collect his silver medal.
