Nicole Turner won a silver medal for Ireland at the Paralympic Games on Monday morning.

The 19-year-old finished second in the S6 50m butterfly behind Jiang Yuyan of China and ahead of the USA's Elizabeth Marks in third.

Turner had qualified for the final as second fastest. The Portarlington swimmer finished Monday's one-length final in 36.30, 1.61 seconds behind the winner.

Five years ago in Rio de Janeiro, Turner reached five Paralympic finals in the pool.
