The 13-Year-Old From Portarlington That The Entire Nation Should Be Proud Of Right Now

A hugely memorable seven days has ended for a 13-year-old from Portarlington.

Paralympic swimmer Nicole Turner made her IPC Swimming World Championships debut in Glasgow this week.

The teenager was slated to enter six events. Incredibly, Nicole qualified the finals in all of them.

She also set personal bests in every event along the way.

Here's how Nicole's week went.

Monday

S6 400m freestyle - fifth in the final and a personal best of 6:01.49 in the heat.

Tuesday

SB6 100m breaststroke - fifth in the final and a personal best of 1:48.07

Wednesday

S6 50m butterfly - sixth in the final and a personal best of 40.14 in the heat.

Thursday

S6 50m freestyle - sixth in the final and a personal best of 36.81 in the heat.

Friday

S6 200m individual medley - eight in final and a personal best of 3:26.87.

Sunday

S6 100m freestyle - seventh in the final and a personal best of 1:21.09

Along with Nicole's feat, the Irish team claimed two medals.

Darragh McDonald took bronze in the S6 400m freestyle and Ellen Keane also won bronze in the SM9 200m individual medley.
