August 17th was a momentous date for Shelbourne Park as it celebrated its 90th anniversary.

In actuality, May 14th was the real 90th anniversary for the historic venue but it was not possible to mark the occasion on that date so August 17th was earmarked as the big night of celebrations.
The guest list included a host of famous faces across the Irish sports scene including boxer Bernard Dunne, golfer Peter Lawrie and a pair of commentating legends in Jimmy Magee and Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh.
