Pictures: Team Ireland Reveled In The Atmosphere At The Special Olympics Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony for the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games took place on Saturday in Los Angeles and the 88 athletes representing Team Ireland were enjoying the atmosphere at the LA Coliseum.

They were accompanied by the 40 coaches involved as well as Claudine Keane - wife of Republic of Ireland captain Robbie - and Irish actor Colin Farrell.

177 countries will compete at the 2015 Special Olympics with over seven thousand athletes taking part. Team Ireland will compete in 12 different events over the games which last nine days.
