What a game.

If Manchester United fans had to pick a man of the match in their 3-2 win against Brighton, the woodwork might top the list of nominees as Leandro Trossard struck the post and bar in a game that Brighton dominated.

Brighton hit the woodwork five times with Trossard completing the left post, right post and crossbar hat-trick.

In doing so, Trossard became the first player to hit the woodwork three times in a Premier League match since Cristiano Ronaldo vs Newcastle United in October 2006.

Aside from this, the Belgian attacker also missed a golden chance in injury time as David De Gea made a vital save with his legs.

Solly March's dramatic goal at the death looked like it gave Brighton a deserved share of the points at the Amex Stadium after a Lewis Dunk own-goal and a blistering finish from Marcus Rashford gave United the lead.

Neal Maupay opened the scoring the hosts, but it was Bruno Fernandes' last-minute penalty that gave United all three points.

Fernandes' goal at 99:45 is the latest goal that was scored in the Premier League since Juan Mata's strike for Chelsea against Norwich in August 2011.

Despite the win, Paul Pogba's contribution was minimal as seen by the fact that by the 65th-minute mark, the World Cup winner failed to create a chance, produce a shot, make a tackle or interception during his time on the pitch against Brighton and he had the lowest passing accuracy of any Man Utd player.

Unsurprisingly, Pogba was replaced by Fred as United tried to turn the tide on Brighton's pressure.

Granted, Pogba's summer was interrupted after he tested positive for COVID, but that piece of information doesn't make good reading for the midfielder.

In a game that was filled with events, Pogba was on the periphery.
