Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville were back on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football for the time this season, a welcome sight for sore eyes on a monotonous Monday evening.
Carragher was straight into one of favourite past-times, the analysing of Man United and their players after a bad loss, as he highlighted aspects of Man United's tactics in their 2-1 loss to Brighton two weeks ago and their horrendous 4-0 drubbing against Brentford on Saturday.
One important aspect of Man United manager Erik ten Hag's tactical plan is to play is to play out from the back, and as Carragher pointed out, the inability of Man United to perform this task properly hurt them considerably in their two losses.
The most crucial player in playing out from the back is often the goalkeeper, and Carragher slammed David de Gea his poor touch and his failure to complete 'basic' from his box.

Ten Hag's main signing during the summer was Ajax centre back Lisandro Martinez. Standing at just 5ft 9in, Martinez' lack of height was subject to a lot of questioning before the start of the season. While for some, it may have just been friendly pre-season banter between rival fans, but for Carragher it is a very real and very serious problem, and he stated that teams would be 'crackers' not to target the short Argentinian.
The other problem's he's got is the signing of Lisandro Martinez at the back," he continued. "Now we should never judge managers, players, too early. But I'm convinced this can't work because the size of him, five foot nine playing in a back four. Maybe he could go left back, maybe he could play in a back three."
Quite a statement from Carragher so early on in the season. But, considering his experience as a pundit, and particularly one who played for so many years in the centre back position in the Premier League, they are worrying comments for any Man United fan.
