Manchester United may have gotten their first league win of the season against Brighton at the weekend, but it's fair to say their performance left a lot to be desired.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were outplayed for large portions of the contest and could count themselves lucky to come away with the three points. Couple that with their loss to Crystal Palace in the season opener, and things don't look great at Old Trafford.

The club hierarchy will be expecting some major improvements this season, something that could mount pressure onto Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. That is certainly the opinion held by Roy Keane.

Appearing on Sky Sports this evening, he said the honeymoon period for Solskjaer at Old Trafford was now well and truly over.

It's not been great. Obviously they would have been pleased with the result against Brighton, but there are worrying signs already in the first week.

I know it's early days, but they're giving up a lot of chances against Palace and Brighton, so the signs aren't great...

It would be different if it was against Manchester City or Liverpool with brilliant attacking players, but you would expect them to do a little better against Palace and the chances Brighton created.

Everyone is focusing how defensively poor they've been, but I think the team as a whole has not been great...

I think the remit will different for Ole this season. I know last season it was probably to get in the top four, and they got to three semi-finals as well, but I think it will be higher this season and they certainly have to get a bit closer to Liverpool and Man City.

The points total cannot be the same as it was over the last three or four years. I think Ole will have to probably get his hands on a trophy.

I think the honeymoon period is certainly over for Ole. The pressure starts to mount now, especially with performances like they've had over the last week or so.

This is a big change from Keane, who had previously been preaching the importance of having patience with his former teammate.
