It's been a dramatic past few days at Stamford Bridge, with Graham Potter being appointed the club's new head coach after the sacking of Thomas Tuchel. One player who could benefit from the change in management is Christian Pulisic, with his national coach saying that the sacking could be a "positive" ahead of the World Cup.

With Todd Boehly reportedly not happy with Tuchel's views in the transfer window, the German was sacked on Wednesday morning.

It's expected that Potter will make quite a few changes ahead of his first game in charge of the club, at home to RB Salzburg on Wednesday night.

USA national team coach Gregg Berhalter has said that the change in management could benefit his captain Christian Pulisic, who has struggled for game time over the past year with the club.

Pulisic joined the club back in 2019 for a fee of around £60 million. Since then Pulisic has gone on to make over 100 appearances for the club, but with the wealth of attacking options in the Chelsea squad, the 23-year-old has failed to nail down a regular place in the starting XI.

Gregg Berhalter on Christian Pulisic and Tuchel's sacking

This season, Christian Pulisic has featured in seven games, but has only started once and Berhalter has said that Thomas Tuchel's sacking could be "positive" for the attacker ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

Berhalter was quoted by The Associated Press, saying:

I’m not happy a guy lost his job. But if this means more opportunity for Christian, then it’s positive because he’s a guy that’s proven that he can perform at that level

We’ll just have to wait and see.'

Despite Christian Pulisic's lack of game time so far, Berhalter has said that it won't impact his chances at the World Cup, but that he does have options at his disposal should things not go to plan.

I’m sure there’s not going to be anything drastic, but there may be a couple of guys that pop up

If someone gets injured and they can’t go on that day, we’ll be ready with alternates.
