It's been a big week for Irish rugby and things just got a whole lot bigger with the Irish Independent revealing 'Ian Madigan (26) has finally debuted his girlfriend of several months, makeup artist Anna Kirwan to the scene.'

A debut? Does she get a cap?

And to what 'scene'?

The Indo say she's 'Ireland's newest rugby WAG.' Congratulations I suppose. I hadn't realised debuts were a thing. Should we all debut our girlfriends now?

In time, will this become a new type of anniversary? 'Well we've been together for a year but it's seven months since she made her debut.' I for one am looking forward to post-debut analysis from Matt Williams:

A solid if unspectacular debut. She kept things tight defensively but in the future I'd like to see her play a more expansive game. Maybe Vines of themselves out and about together, photos of them wearing matching jumpers - things like that.

I wonder will any other 'WAGs' be handed their debut between now and the World Cup. For now, we wait with bated breath.
