In the first test between Japan and the "Maori All Blacks", Japanese loosehead prop Masataka Mikami was knocked out after an off the ball incident. On further review however it was revealed that his own teammate and front row colleague, hooker Takeshi Kizu was the person to make contact with him in an innocuous contact off the ball. It's the first time we can recall someone being knocked out by a teammate The Maoris went on to win 61-21 but not before the uncapped Japanese props won a penalty try against their established opposition.
