Nevin Spence tragically died in a farming accident along with his brother and father on September 15th, 2012.

He was a rising star in the Ulster Rugby squad. When their father got into difficulty in a slurry tank, Nevin and his brother Graham attempted to rescue him but they too succumbed to the fumes.

Ulster played Munster on Friday night at Thomond Park, losing by just a point. Rory Best tweeted a picture of the away dressing featuring a nice touch from Munster, a plaque commemorating Nevin Spence.

Another former Ulster player, Jack Kyle, was remembered at Thomond Park on Friday night. Kyle was a member of the 1948 Grand Slam-winning Ireland side. He died on Friday aged 88.
