With the 2023 Rugby World Cup now in full swing, we have been given a glimpse at what every team at the tournament has to offer on the pitch. Of course, we are not just talking about their chances of lifting the Webb Ellis Cup, but also when it comes to their jerseys.

There are some top class efforts at this year's tournament, with Portugal recently coming out on top in our ranking of every nation's home kit.

With the home kits done, it's only fair that we give the other teams a chance to redeem themselves by looking at every away offering that will be on show in France over the coming weeks.

Here's what we came up with.

2023 Rugby World Cup away jersey rankings

20. Wales

Macron have knocked it out of the park in this year's tournament, but this is arguably the worst jersey out of the 40 that could be worn in France.

It looks more like a knockoff polo shirt than a rugby jersey.

19. Tonga

Tonga finished bottom of our home rankings and they don't fare much better on this occasion.

It looks like a stock kit with a crest stuck on it.

18. Romania

This is the same template as Romania's home jersey, and while that one ranked highly, the lack of colour means this one finishes a lot lower on this particular list.

The sleeves don't really work.

17. New Zealand

It's just too boring.

Much like the actual All Blacks team, this has not been their Rugby World Cup in terms of jerseys.

16. Georgia

The trim on this white effort actually takes away something from it and likely would have ranked a bit higher if not.

15. Australia

Asics have not done the Australians justice at this tournament, with the Wallabies having some of the most iconic Rugby World Cup jerseys of all-time in the past.

We're hoping for better in 2027.

14. Namibia

This away kit is much nicer than Namibia's home one, although it doesn't manage to come all that near to the top half of our rankings.

13. Samoa

This is very clean cut from Samoa, but it is slightly on the boring side.

Still, it's not the worst.

12. Uruguay

This is something different from Uruguay, who have become one of the most popular teams among neutrals at this year's tournament.

We're big fans of the crest.

11. South Africa

This South African jersey has split opinion, but we think it's fine.

It's certainly something a bit more entertaining than the 14 plain white jerseys on offer at the event.

10. Japan

This blue effort follows the same template as the Japanese home jersey, but it actually works a little bit better here in our opinion.

The crest looks great on the blue background.

9. Ireland

Ireland manage to scrape into the top ten with this one, with this being one of their better away jerseys of the last decade or so.

We like the navy incorporated into the collar and sleeve cuffs.

8. Scotland

This is a clean effort from Scotland, with the tartan design on the sleeve cuffs a nice touch.

7. Chile

Umbro did not fare well in our home jersey rankings, but they are doing much better in the away version.

This is a lovely effort from Chile.

6. France

The French crest means it always stands out despite what can often be otherwise plain designs, with this being no exception.

The blue trim featuring on only one side of the kit is not something that you see often.

5. Fiji

It's different to imagine Fiji in anything other than their iconic white kit, but this is actually a very nice alternative.

It is certainly not your typical rugby jersey and it works well, with leaves from the palm tree (which features in the nation's crest) adding a splash of colour.

4. England

This is a belter.

The subtle designs on the chest really add to what otherwise would have been a bland England jersey, vaulting it up the rankings in the process.

3. Portugal

Portugal topped our home jersey ranking, and while they didn't quite manage it again here, a top three finish is nothing to be sniffed at.

The green and red trim works wonderfully here, as does the grey panelling and use of the nation's coat of arms in the design.

2. Italy

The collar, the sleeve cuffs, the incorporation of the crest in the design? All glorious.

Italy always produce the goods at the Rugby World Cup and this is no exception.

1. Argentina

When you think of what Argentina would come up with for an away jersey, it is unlikely that you would even consider something like this. However, it is an absolute belter.

The sash across the jersey looks great, with the white really allowing that iconic Argentine crest to pop. The Nike and World Cup symbols matching that crest also works, while the red trim on the collar and sleeves is the cherry on top of the cake.

Home or away, this is the best jersey at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
