Having been here for over five years, it's clear that Joe Schmidt is slightly different compared to other coaches. There have been several selections he's made in his five years coaching Ireland and first Leinster that not everyone has agreed with, only for the selection to be vindicated team and again. One such decision is selecting Felix Jones on the bench as the ulitity cover ahead of the likes of Luke Fitzgerald, Keith Earls and Dave Kearney
Players always talk about how much detail he brings to training. So much detail in fact, that he doesn't like having too many left footers in the back three.
At least, that's what he is saying to the press about the reason why Felix Jones is on the bench ahead of Luke Fitzgerald. It's the strangest reasoning we've ever heard in terms of selection ever. It comes after he is asked was he tempted to change his bench with Luke Fitzgerald and Keith Earls in good form ahead of Felix Jones.
