Things got ugly for Western Force this morning as they traveled across the Tasman to Waikato to play the Chiefs.

After Charlie Ngatai's wonderful try put the Chiefs ahead, this incident in the first half gave the Perth based franchise an uphill battle.

Scrumhalf Ian Prior lifted the diminutive outside back Tim Nanai-Williams up in the tackle after Nanai-Williams has dropped the ball. It was deemed a dangerous tackle, and was given a straight red card. Given the nature of the tackle, it's hard to argue with the referee.

Commentator Justin Marshall has some interesting comments on the nature of dangerous tackles in the clip.
