Ireland's victory over Scotland this afternoon would have been an incredibly satisfying one. Not only is it huge to come away with a convincing win from Murrayfield, but the adversity they faced over the course of the 80 minutes would have made it all the more pleasing.

Andy Farrell's side suffered an incredible amount of injuries, especially early in the game. Three members off the pack would be forced off inside the opening half hour, with Caelan Doris, Dah Sheehan, and Iain Henderson all being substituted.

More injuries would follow after the interval, so much so that Ireland would be forced to utilise Cian Healy at hooker after Ronan Kelleher was also forced off. Josh van der Flier was the one throwing the ball into the line-out from this point, something he did brilliantly.

The injury slate is hardly ideal heading into the Grand Slam decider against England next weekend, but it was brilliant to see the team overcome those issues in this fixture.

Andy Farrell is sure to have a few big selections decisions to make ahead of the game against England, with a few players removed from today's fixture likely to be unavailable.

It will certainly test the depth within the squad, an area that Ireland have become much stronger in over the last couple of seasons.

Despite this, when speaking to the BBC after the game, Farrell couldn't help but crack a joke about bringing in some new faces to the camp this week.

That was an amazing Test match for all sorts of reasons. It was a bit of organised chaos at halftime, but there was a smile on everyone's face and lets go for it.

I bet Scotland didn't know what was going on when we came out with Josh [van der Flier] throwing in and Ronan [Kelleher] on the pitch. We tried to front up but obviously he couldn't. Then we had Cian [Healy] coming on and doing what he did in the scrum.

There was controversy all over that game, straight from the word go with Calean Doris coming off. There was a new ball put in there and we didn't get the try, we also lost Caelan...

We've got player that have gotten sent home that are watching today. They will be immensely proud of their team, will meet up with us tomorrow night and we go again. We've got a good squad.

If we get any more injuries during the week, we might have to look at Old Belvedere U12s!

We will lick our wounds and go again, we have earned the right. We know we've got a wounded England coming, so they're going to be dangerous as well next weekend.

It will be a hell of a weekend to look forward to on Paddy's weekend.

The Old Belvedere U12s better hit the gym over the next few days in case the call-up comes before next weekend.

Regardless of what personnel is available, Ireland will be confident of securing the Grand Slam against a wounded England side. It would be a fitting way to cap off what has been a remarkable campaign.
