French scrumhalf Antoine Dupont has continued his electrifying form with an amazing performance in France's 50-10 win against Italy.

Dupont won the player of the tournament award for the 2020 Six Nations Championship and has kicked off his 2021 campaign in similar style. The Toulouse man was involved in four tries for France in Rome, as he pulled the strings in a dominant performance.

Just under a half hour into the opening game of the Six Nations, his stunning kick through for Gael Fickou set up France's second try.

Only three minutes later, Dupont was once again instrumental in setting up a French try.

After intercepting and kicking through a loose ball for Gabin Villiere to chase, he followed Villiere into the Italian 22 and ultimately produced a neat offload to Arthur Vincent for another French try.

12 minutes into the second half, Dupont finally got his own name on the scoresheet. The scrumhalf did well to follow wing Teddy Thomas as he broke through the Italian defence and, when Thomas passed to Dupont, he merely had to stroll it in under the posts to extend France's lead further.

And, just four minutes later, Dupont was involved in yet another try. Out-half Matthieu Jalibert led a brilliant French break into the Italian half and Dupont was on hand to take his offload and put Teddy Thomas in for France's sixth try.

Dupont was brought off just before the hour mark, with France perhaps keeping one eye on next week's trip to the Aviva Stadium to face Ireland. Though Italy's performance was somewhat underwhelming, England and Ireland will no doubt have made note of Dupont's impressive showing.

If the other teams in the championship weren't already keeping an eye on Dupont, today's performance will have them fretting anxiously about coming up against him and this French team.
