Remember the name Aotearoa Mata'u.... Easier said than done, perhaps, but at the very least remember to look out for her next time the New Zealand women's team play their Irish counterparts.

The Black Ferns saw off their 2014 conquerors 38-8 at the UCD Bowl earlier this evening, with a barn-storming second half by New Zealand proving too much for Ireland, who trailed just 5-3 at half-time.

1,809 people and Joe Schmidt watched on as the world's number one team saw off Tom Tierney's outfit, scoring six tries en route to an ultimately emphatic victory.

Those in attendance did, however, witness the emergence of a potentially world class talent in Mata'u, who despite being a front row replacement almost mirrored one Jonah Lomu with her destructive carries, following her try off the bench against Canada last week with another extraordinary display of raw power in Dublin.

And it was one run in particular, with just six minutes and change remaining on the clock, which caught the eye of those in attendance. Mata'u picked the ball up near halfway and sent Orla Fitzsimons, Fiona Reidy and Mary Healy for chips with ferocious hand-offs before Healy recovered and combined with Ireland captain Niamh Briggs to haul her down on Ireland's 22.

Bosh. It's incredible to think Mata'u is still just 19, but she actually made her senior debut in 2013 for Counties Manukau, aka 'The Heat', while a student at Papakura High School.

It's going to be extremely interesting to see how her career develops in the coming years.
