We're just off the back of a poor Six Nations and not just for Ireland. Overall, the standard of rugby played was weak.

Given that not one northern hemisphere team made the semi-finals of the World Cup - a particularly derisive rugby fan could label the Six Nations as a second tier rugby competition, with the Rugby Championship being first tier.

Later this year, European rugby fans will get a chance - in person - to witness that top tier rugby competition.

On October 8th, at Twickenham, Argentina will play what was initially scheduled as their home game against Australia at the home of English rugby.

The game will be a replay of last year's World Cup semi-final between the two teams at Twickenham. Australia won that match 29-15.
