Australia pulled off an incredible comeback victory against Argentina in the Rugby Championship in Salta on Saturday night.

Argentina led 31-7 at the break after running in four tries in the opening 40 minutes. That included two in the first four minutes.

The Wallabies' comeback began shortly after the break when Izack Rodda went over after 43 minutes. Israel Folau touched down for another four minutes later.

By the 52nd minute, the deficit had bee reduced to just three points through a Dane Haylett-Petty try and Bernard Foley conversion.

A Santiago González Iglesias penalty extended Argentina's lead to six points but it would be the home side's only score of the second half.

A David Pocock try in the 63rd minute, again converted by Foley, gave Australia the lead for the first time. Haylett-Petty touched down for the game's tenth and final try three minutes later.

The game finished 34-45.
