A try and conversion 7 minutes into stoppage time cost Connacht a huge win in Wales last night as they eventually went down 18-17 to Cardiff. Having taken an 17-11 lead, and defended manfully deep into stoppage time, Connacht eventually couldn't prevent Joaquin Tuculet crossing for the Blues in the 87th minute before full-back Rhys Patchell won the game with the conversion.

After the game, Connacht Head Coach Pat Lam was furious with two calls in stoppage time that he felt cost his side the win and took the unusual step of bringing a laptop with him in the post game press conference to explain his fury.

Lam went into some detail especially about an incident in the 3rd minute of stoppage time when Connacht forced a turnover and cleared only for the play to be brought back as touch judge Leighton Hodges called a penalty for hands in the ruck.

Lam went on to make a very serious claim about Hodges.
