It goes thusly: handbags - schmozzle - melee - shameful scenes.

Given the procilivity for scraps in French rugby, you wonder if their media have a similar scale for measuring the seriousness of the scuffles seen at various levels of their game.

Over the weekend, the academy sides of Biarritz and Beziers clashed - on the pitch and off it - in what we will classify as 'le shameful scenes'.

Both players and spectators were involved in an incident which went of for nearly two minutes.
