[UPDATED]

'Jonny Sexton's Racing Metro' is enough of a mouthful without us having to refer to them as 'Jonny Sexton and Conor Murray's Racing Metro' but according to today's Irish Independent we may soon have to.

As rugby transfer speculation begins to reach football levels, the Indo says 'The club which took both Jonny Sexton and Ronan O'Gara to France over the summer has targeted the Munster and Ireland scrum-half, who is out of contract at the end of the season.'

They report that Jacky Lorenzetti, Racing Metro president, is a guest at a Ronan O'Gara testimonial dinner in Cork tonight and is 'expected to step up his efforts to sign Murray.'

Speaking on Newstalk this morning, Ronan O'Gara commented on the speculation saying that he has definitely been considered, 'They've a big budget, they're a big club, they want to sign the best players and Conor fits into that category.'

However ROG also noted that Murray is one of about six or seven players in the frame and that he would rather Murray stays with Munster.

Meanwhile, Murray was too busy getting the Bejaysis scared out of him at The Nightmare Realm to comment on such speculation. Ironically it's the same kind of reaction a lot Munster fans could have if Murray leaves for Racing.
