Conor Murray knows Scotland will arrive in Dublin sensing that there is blood in the water following Ireland's abysmal display against Georgia last weekend.

Ireland won the game 23-10, scoring just two tries. In the second 40 minutes, they only added three points to their half-time total.

"If they had played Georgia last weekend and struggled to put them to the sword, we'd be more confident than we usually we would," said the Munster scrum-half.

"I'm sure they're licking their lips.

"That's the challenge for us, to go out and right the wrongs from last weekend. Scotland have no fear of coming to the Aviva."

Murray started the game against Georgia but there has been increased competition for the number nine jersey during the Autumn Nations Cup. Jamison Gibson-Park started against both Wales and England while Murray stepped off the bench.

"It's great. It's something that I've processed," Murray said regarding the competition.

"I've been working with Jamison, and Marmo for years - he's been around for quite a while. It puts and onus on you to bring out the best in yourself.

"There's a new feel to this group. You feel like you're almost proving yourself all over again.

"I've tried to turn it into a positive and hopefully it's brings out the best in me.

"The feeling around the whole squad is that anyone could be given a chance any week. If you do get a chance, you really want to be ready to take it.

"That's infectious, that energy; when there's a walkthrough or in team training, everyone is keen to impress and keen to get things right."
