Toulon beat Racing 17-11 on New Year's day. Shortly before half-time, Ma'a Nonu touched down for the first try of the game as Toulon took an 11-6 lead.

The score would remain as such at half-time as Leigh Halfpenny's conversion attempt sailed well wide.

It was not entirely the Welsh fullback's fault - there were mitigating circumstances, namely involving the Star Wars theme tune. As Halfpenny stepped up to take the kick, the music rang around the Stade Felix Mayol on the PA system.

The Sky Sports commentators described it as 'the most bizarre moment of Top 14 rugby' they'd seen in a long time.

Given Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal's intolerance on incompetence - he once described the transition from Jonny Wilkinson to Quade Cooper as going from 'foie gras to pâté' - it would not be surprising to hear that someone at the club got their P45 today.
