The Irish Junior squad over came the rain and fatigue in Aukland to book a place in the Semi-Finals of the Junior World Championships. The lads needed 4 tries to secure the bonus point they needed to progress: they managed 5. A hat-trick of penalty tries were awarded before two from open play were duely dispatched.

Here is the first of the two from open play, this one was scored by Galwegians and Connaught man; Ciaran Gaffney.

Substitute Conor McKeown converted after fantastic play from impressive centre Gary Ringrose to seal the victory and the bonus point.

With a convincing 38 - 0 win under the belt, Ireland could plan for the semi-finals where they will carry injury concerns for Dan Goggin and Rory Burke along with several tired bodies.
