15 March 2014 – A date that could bring about one of Ireland's greatest days in sport but could also be a day of tragedy. For on that day Ireland will play France in the last game of the Six Nations and should we win the Grand Slam, Gordon D'Arcy will shave off his beard.
Sexton has also promised thst should Ire win the Grand Slam, he will personally shave Gordon D'Arcy's beard #JS10

This is not a bad dream, it's real life unfortunately and now I find myself angry and confused. Like all Irish rugby fans I would love to see us win another Grand Slam but as a beard fan I think the loss of the D'Acy masterpiece would be arguably the saddest day in beard history since the birth of King C. Gillette.
So the question we must all ask ourselves now is simple; the beard or the Grand Slam?
If you would like to show your support of the D'Arcy beard then upload a photoshopped photo of yourself wearing it (You can find the beard here), leave us a link and we will start an online petition. #savethebeard
