Speaking on Off the Ball on Monday night, Brian O'Driscoll told of how much Luke Fitzgerald fancies himself as a golfer.

The subject came up because of a video which the IRFU released earlier in the day. It featured Fitzgerald 'gripping and ripping' - unsuccessfully - as Rory McIlroy gave a golf lesson to the Irish squad. The back's club face hit the ground, sending it flying.

It was an uproarious moment for those present and a slightly embarrassing one for Luke Fitzgerald.

Late on Monday evening, Fitzgerald stood in front of the mirror in his room, practising his swing and ruminating on what went wrong - all the time not knowing that he was being filmed by Ian Madigan.

Fitzgerald sedately recounted Rory McIlroy's explanation for the mishap.

Rory said '80% of the time, it's usually something to do with your setup' but...

Only to turn around and realise it was all being captured for Instagram.
