What a week it has been for Leinster's Joey Carbery. Beating the All Blacks after only five starts for Leinster is massive achievement for the Auckland-born out-half.
Carbery started the week by taking part in his initiation ritual, where a new player must sing a song for the rest of the squad. This is one of the last few traditions that exist from the amateur days and, per the Irish Mirror, Carbery went for a 90's classic:
"It's hard to believe," he acknowledged, revealing that he had already had his squad initiation and had sung 'I'll be there for you' by the Rembrandts - the Friends' theme tune.
You can be 100% sure there were a few songs sang in the post-match celebrations but having to sing without some help from Dutch Courage is almost as daunting as tackling a New Zealand player at full tilt. Just look at how painfully awkward David Meyler was when he had to sing for he's initiation with the Irish football team.
Carbery has enjoyed a rapid rise, one of the greatest in 2016, to the heights seen on Solider Field on Saturday evening, less then six months ago Carbery was pulling the strings for Clontarf as they won the AIL final.
