Ireland were beaten by a score of 22-21 in Thursday's exhibition match against The Barbarians, but discussion after the match quickly focused on two moments of naughtiness courtesy of Ian Madigan and Jack McGrath.

While McGrath was sin-binned, fears that both players would be cited post-match and potentially miss some of Ireland's World Cup warm-up matches were understandable, but it turns out that neither player will be retrospectively punished for the incident, after neither player was cited in the two hour window after exhibition matches in which incidents must be lodged.

No reporting of the incident means no punishment, and McGrath and Madigan will both be available for selection whenever they are needed.

Considering some of the citings we have seen in recent months, in particular Pascal Pape's knee on Jamie Heaslip in the Six Nations which was met with anger from Irish fans, you have to feel that the lads are a tad fortunate.
